How far in advance should I book my wedding makeup artist?

Most Kansas City brides book 9–15 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season dates. Due to demand and level of service devoted to each bride, Shani only takes on one wedding per day to be able to focus solely on you. Once a date is booked it is blocked off for you.

Yes — bridal makeup trials are available and recommended. Trials allow us to perfect your look before the wedding day and ensure your makeup aligns with your vision. While is is not required to have a trial most brides find them very helpful to discover the look they feel they look their best in and recreate the conditions of your wedding day to wear the look all day to be able to make any adjustments needed on the day of the wedding.

Do you travel to wedding venues?

Yes, I provide on-site wedding makeup throughout Kansas City and surrounding areas. My travel rate is $50 for within the KC metro locations, then additional $50 per 30 mins of driving time per team member.

How long will hair and makeup take on the wedding day, and how do we schedule timing?

Timing depends on the number of people and services booked. On average, hair and makeup take 45–60 minutes per service per person.  and 2 hours for the bride. After booking, we’ll create a custom wedding-day timeline to ensure everything runs smoothly. We recommend the bride finishes hair and makeup 45–60 minutes before departure to allow time for dressing and photos. Additional artists may be recommended for larger parties or tight schedules.

How early do we need to start services?

Wedding-day beauty services typically begin early in the morning. Long-wearing hair and makeup take skill, experience, and—most importantly—time to ensure everything is done calmly and beautifully. Your start time is based on the number of services booked and when everyone needs to be ready.
We also require about 15 minutes for setup before services begin. Most wedding mornings start between 6:00–9:00 AM and run for approximately 4–5 hours. Once booked, we’ll create a personalized timeline to ensure a smooth, stress-free start to your day.
